Xat 2009 was conducted on Jan 4th from 10am to 12-30pm for the admission of the mba programme of xlri. As many as 60 b-schools accept Xat marks for their admissions this year many felt that the paper was a lot tougher than the previous year, some even said that it was tougher than the cat paper, the analysist's feel that it was not a surprise. The number of options were increased to 5 from 4, but the number of question came down to 104 from 120. In the di and ds section the question were on the tougher side. Each question was time consuming and tedious, many would lost a lot of time in this section. The cut-off for this section is expected to be around 10 marks which lower than previous year. Ar and dm section the question were relatively easier, the question were a bit simpler with focus on algebra and arithmetic the cut- off for this section would be around 8. In the verbal section the question were dense and tedious many would have lost time in this section. The standard of English was very high. A good knowledge of grammar is needed to attempt this section the cut- off for this section would be
around 10. The overall cut-off for this year Xat paper would be much lesser than previous year it would be around 34.
