War of Peace

The question 'do wars bring peace' faced by bush and blair is now faced by our prime minister. The cruel truth is that however hard the bushes and blairs hit the bin laden’s and saddams it’s probably not going to bring peace. Wars don’t do any thing but lead headlong into next war. Retaliation is the worst possible response to crime and it will just lead to a morass of hatred creating a labyrinth of war. Take for instance the Gujarat tragedy, which spiraled out of control because everyone was obsessed with revenge. We should transfigure anger into a safer form such as law and justice so as not to inflict damage. In these tense times we must accept that violence is not the solution. We must realize that forbearance and restrain are the most direct ways to curb and crush violence. In the process of fighting terror with violence we taint our hands. Wars most definitely do not bring peace. They only bring strife, malice, and hatred. We must act with restraint and keep in mind 'kindness nobler ever than revenge’.

  1. Very short, to the point and effective! I agree with you. We need to drag people out of the loose sands of revenge and give them some perspective.
