The Wounded Tigers

Is the end near for the Lankan rebels? The Lankan army has captured the elephant pass a strategic area which connects the south and the north of the country. The most determined military action in the recent years have pushed back the rebels. The Lankan president is fulfilling his election promise of getting rid of the LTTE which has been demanding for a separate country for the Tamils, the rebels have been struggling for more than three decades against the Lankan govt. The recent military action has hurt the rebels badly, they have lost key areas to the leader prabhakaran has refused to put down arms, he has controlled the rebel movement with a vice grip. He now faces a very tough challenge of fighting the military. The end may be nearing for the rebel group. But prabhakaran has vowed to fight on and recapture the areas. Even if the LTTE does fall, the call for a separate country might not end. The future will hold all the answers. Globally there has been voices which has asked for the end to the violence and Tamil groups all over the world has urged for a cease fire and peaceful resolve.
