Expect Change

The world’s largest democracy goes to polls next month. This election will be very special as there will be about 4.3 million first time voters. All the major parties are rallying around to cash in on this huge vote bank. There has been a massive drive around the country to increase the vote percentage, which has been really low in the past few years. The youth of India is demanding change in the political system of India. There is also large anticipation that the new government might bail out India from the economic crisis. The present government which has been successful for a certain extent to help in India’s boom, is been widely criticized for its ineffectiveness in dealing with the terrorist attacks. It still remains to be seen that whether the youth will bring the much needed change to Indian politics.

Obama over hyped?

As the history is all set to be made in the American political scene. As a the whole nation waits for the first black American president to be sworn in. There is an immense amount of expectation about obama. This kind of excitement is new to the recent American history. It might be due to the fact many are simply happy to see the back of bush, there are even debates held no whether bush was the worst president of America. People see obama as a savior of the American dream. A lot is expected of him. This kind of expectation can prove detrimental too. The sort of expectation that are on the shoulders of a relatively younger president who is lacking the much needed political experience. The critics are quick to notice this and are raising doubts about his abilities. But the youth of America are pumped up and have shown much enthusiasm in him. As the hype surrounding him settles down it will be clear if obama is what he promises to be.
